Athletics

Aloha guys, this week we had athletics. My year group first did high jump, then long distance, long jump, disus, shot put, then `sprints`. My favourite activity is sprints. 

For high jump I came 1st, for long distance idk what place I came, for long jump I came 2nd, discus I came 2nd, then for sprints I came first in the first heat then went into finals and came first for the finals. 

We did all the activities execpt for sprints becaue we were doing it as a whole school so the juniors can also join. whilst we were doing all the other activites  instead of doing sprints we just played games. I am really proud of myself. Here is a photo 

100 word count

  Aloha people, This week we did a 100 word count for reading. A 100 word count is when you  get a prompt or a photo and you have to write about it by the photo or if it is a prompt you have to add that in your story, and you also have to make your story 100 words exactly. “Yay”, it's time to go the museum.'' I yelled. I've been waiting for this moment for ages. I was so excited. We arrived and there were so many things. All the pictures were so eye-catching. But there was this one thing I couldn't get my eyes off. It was a ball with heaps of bumps and pattern type things. It looked so cool. I wanted to take it home and show my friends. “Mum come look at this' 'I said. “Wow, that's so cool,” said mum. We asked the receptionist how much it's worth and they said 1000000 million dollars

 Aloha guys, the few past weeks for reading we have been learning about the olympics. We have a must do and a choose. The must do is a task that we HAVE to do, the choose is three task that we can choose to do. Im a Trusted Treker

Aloha, today at the assembly,   Ms McLachlan announced 7 new trusted trekers, I was one of them. When she called out my name I was so happy but also a little bit nervous.  

The trusted treker get to sit on the chairs in the gym. After assembly was finsihed all the trusted trekers went to  Ms McLachlan to take our photos. We took a photo by ourselves, then a photo with the new trusted trekers and then one with all of the truseted trekers for 2021.

100 word count

 Aloha people, This week we did a 100 word count for reading. A 100 word count is when you  get a prompt or a photo and you have to write about it by the photo or if it is a prompt you have to add that in your story, and you also have to make your story 100 words exactly. This week we had to add the prompt in. The prompt was " I just had to see what was inside" Here is my 100 word count.

My nana died, my whole family flew down from Aussie. Everyone was crying. My fat fat uncle, my green aunty and my purple elephant started digging the hole where you put the coffin.  “Mhm” John Cena cleared his throat. “ I have an announcement to make, your nana has not died,” John Cena announced, “ OO” everyone gasped. “What's in the coffin then?” I mumbled.  I opened up the coffin, because I just had to see what was inside. I gasped, there was a dead crocodile inside the coffin. Everyone yelled “ WHY YOU DO THAT FOR, WE DIDN'T NEED A SPECIAL CELEBRATION”

Student Summit.

 Aloha guys, Today we had student simmit. We had four sessions and 6 options to chose from .  I chose how to upgrade my google slide, book creator, codey rockey and biteable. It started at 9:30 and finished ate 12:30 My favorite activity i did was biteable. 

We learnt how to use biteable, book creator and codey rockey. 5 Schools came to our school for it, We did most of it in thegym. For the activitys we used room 5, our gym, our libary, meeting room and the board room. 

For the google slide one I learnt how to animate text. For the codey rockey i learnt how to use one, for the biteable I learnt how to make one, and for book creator we just played around with it. 

For session 1 & 2 I did how to upgrade my google slide and bookcreator. 

We then had a 20 minute break and went onto session 3 & 4, for session 3 & 4 I did the codey rockey and biteable.I think we had about 20 minutes each rotaion.

Venn Diagram

 For reading we have been learning about families. Things that are different about familes. We had to make Venn Diagram about our siblings. We had to include Diffenrent things about us and the same things about us. I did mine about my friend because my brother is in Aussie and I dont know that much about him. Here is my Venn Diagram.

Desribe it

Aloha guys The last couple of week our class room had been working on describe writing. We had to Inclue all 5 senses, They were see, taste,feel, smell and hear. Our teacher set a photo, and we had to write about the photo. We had to atleast have 3-4 paragharphs. We had to also add some simmlies. Here is the photo we had to write about, and my writing.......

The dazzling hot sun reflects from the crystal clear chilly water. Water splashes down from the bright orange slide. Kids are  leaping up and down, falling off parents backs and splashing around in the cool water. A maze of brightly coloured slides blinds my eyes, it reminds me of a selection of fluorescent highlighters.

Palm trees are scattered around, giving shade from the burning hot sun. The sun is beating down onto my sunburnt cheeks, it feels like vinegar getting into a cut. The steam from the hot pool makes me as red as a tomato.

Laughs echo through the colourful tunnels as people zoom through. People splashing into the water sounds like crashing waves at the beach. Sizzles from the hotdogs cooking makes my ears pop like popcorn.

Sweet slimy maple syrup from my delicious pancakes drips down to my chin and onto my hot feet.The soft pancakes slide down my throat, its tasty like a dream come true. My cold, smooth coconut water fills my stomach up.

A  delicious  aroma of bbq wafts through the thin air. The smell of chlorine tickles my nostrils. Sweet sticky ice cream scents float through the air.

Cross Country Set Up

 Aloha guys, For the past week or 2 me and this group of people have been helping our teacher plan the cross country track. 

We first had to go to Kyle Park and figure out the cross country track for the year 1/2 the year 3 and the year 4/5/6. The year 1/2 are running 700m, the year 3 are running 1k and the year 4/5/6 are running 2k. The seniors have to run 2k to make it into zones. 

We then went onto my maps and drew the course on there. Me and my friend then wrote the newsletter for the cross country.

Our cross country is on Thursday the 15th of April.

Dog Safety

Aloha guys, today we had dog safety. People from dog safety came to our school told us about dogs. They had a big, black, fluffy Labrador . They were also telling us to pick up the poop when you are walking your dogs. why dogs bark, and a lot more stuff. 6 people who don't have dogs got to go up and touch the dog. Here are some photos.

Thaumatrope

Aloha guys, we have started doing our reading follow ups. Reading follow ups are when your teacher sets us task at reading time. We get a must do and a can do, Must do's in our class are things that we HAVE to finish by the end of the week. Our must do for my reading group was to make a claymation. For our can do we got a choice of, Make a flip book, Make a Thaumatrope, Make a poster showing the history of animation, Screencastify yourself talking about the history of animation or Research other types of animation and share your information. I chose make a Thaumatrope.

PALS

Aloha guys,  on Wednesday we had PALS. 

PALS stands for 'Physical Activity Leaders'  It started at 9:30 and finished at 2:00. 80 people from other school came to our school and did PALS with us. Ten people from each school was allowed to be included in PALS .

For pals we are got taught on how to run fun activity's for other kids at lunch time and  help with all the sport activities. It was really fun. 

The people who were running PALS first made us play games. We played bull rush, all in tag and some other games. They chose 3-7 people to lead the game and tell us how to play. It was really fun. We then had to make a poster about our school. Here is some photos of pals.

Persuasive writing

Aloha guys we have been learning how to write persuasive writing. Persuasive writing is, whats states the issue or topic, states what you think about it and why people should believe you. We had to pick between the options of positive or negative. Our thing we had to write about was "It better to be and only child." we had to to a brainstorm about why we think being an only child is a positive idea, and why we think being an only child is a negative idea. Then we had to chose three of the things we put in the brainstorm and write our arguments.

Here is my persuasive writing.

Being an only child is the best thing ever.  There are many good reasons for being an only child. My first reason is that It is cheaper for your parents so you can get more things.  Second reason is that you get to do what you want.  Last reason is that you also get your own room .

Saving money is great because you get more expensive things and more things that you want. Life won't be as expensive for you and your parents. You can get nicer things and  you get to go on more fun activities and holidays.

Getting your own room is so great. If you have your own room then it won't be crowded and messy. You have more room to put stuff and won't wake up from people snoring.Also you get more privacy and can invite friends without getting annoyed at siblings.

Getting to do what you want is so good, because you don't have to worry about your siblings coming with you. You will get more money to go get stuff, and you won't get embarrassed. You’ll be much happier without your siblings and if you are the oldest you won't have to worry about your younger siblings.

I strongly agree that being an only child would be good. Its is cheaper for parents, you can do what you want,  and you get your own room.
