Surfing🌊🌊

Aloha guys. Last week we had EOTC. EOTC is when you get to go on heaps of fun trips. We do EOTC because we don't do camp. My favorite activity was surfing, so I'm going to explain about surfing. We went to Sumner Beach so we could practice our surfing skills. There was this group of people who teach people how to surf. They are named Stoked Surf School. We got into our wet suits and picked a board we wanted. The wet suits were very tight and I just chose a plain blue surf board. 

The instructors first had to teach us how to stand up on a board and how to paddle. When everyone got the hang of standing up on the board we put a leg rope on and then headed out into the water. The water was very warm because of the thick wet suits.

We all started to surf, I caught a couple of waves. When the waves were  gliding over the boards the water got in my eyes and mouth. It tasted to salty and the salt water stung my eyes.The wind was very strong so when we were trying to get the boards out of the water its was so hard to pull it out. 

After surfing we had some fish and chips. Then we got to play on the beach. We were allowed to go into the water but only up to ankles. There were some people that were climbing the rocks and other people playing games with the sport equitment. Here are some photos

Friend poster

 Aloha guys. this term we have been reading this chapter book names, Fish In A Tree. Every week we have to read up to a certain page by the end of the week. This week had had to read up to pg 174. we also have a google drawing with activitys we have to do. One of the activitys are was to make a poster on how to be a good friend. here is my poster.

Athletics

Aloha guys, this week we had athletics. My year group first did high jump, then long distance, long jump, disus, shot put, then `sprints`. My favourite activity is sprints. 

For high jump I came 1st, for long distance idk what place I came, for long jump I came 2nd, discus I came 2nd, then for sprints I came first in the first heat then went into finals and came first for the finals. 

We did all the activities execpt for sprints becaue we were doing it as a whole school so the juniors can also join. whilst we were doing all the other activites  instead of doing sprints we just played games. I am really proud of myself. Here is a photo 

Buddy class

Aloha guys, today we had buddy class. 

This term for buddy class we are building a book character`s house. My buddy was orignally Mila but she wasnt at school today so I was with this girl named Taliah. Last week we chose what character`s house we wanted to do with another pair. I was with Kushla and her buddy. We chose Belles house. We had to write down all the equitment we would need then started building. We had heaps of old fridge boxes and some other little cardboard boxes to use. We have not finished our house yet but hopefuly we wiil be soon. Here are some photos

100 word count

Aloha guys, This week we did a 100 word count for reading. A 100 word count is when you  get a prompt or a photo and you have to write about it by the photo or if it is a prompt you have to add that in your story, and you also have to make your story 100 words exactly. This week we had to add a prompt into out story. Here is my 100 word count and the prompt.

…’ What did I tell you about the lights?’

It was a stormy night, heaps of car crashes and deaths last week. I was driving slowly down my street as I was coming back from the shop. Headlights flash behind me whilst blinding me, they follow me near my house. I rang my friend and said that someone was following me. I tried speeding away.’ What did I tell you about the lights?’ my friend said. “ I forgot?” i mumbled “Omg ur so dumb you stupid rat” my ugly fat friend yelled at me “ugh be quite smelly fat rat”

Cloze

 Aloha guys,   This week we did a cloze. A cloze is when you get a story and some missing words, and on the side will be the words that are missing. You have to try figure out the words that are missing and put them in the right spaces. It was called the force and it was pretty easy. Here is my cloze

Swimming

 Aloha guys. 

The last week we have been going swimming at  Canterbury Swim School. Canterbury Swim School is a swimming place that teaches you how to swim. We first had to have showers before we get into the pool. I think we had to have a shower before we get into the pool just in case we had dirty stuff on us, the shower gets it all off.  We have learnt freestyle, backstroke ,kicking and more. I think I have improved at swimming the last week. Here are some photos
